Meet the Artist
James A. Peterson
is a contemporary artist originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He earned his BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He currently resides with his family in Terryville, Connecticut, where he continues to paint heroic-scale portraits of athletes, entertainers, and cultural icons of our time.
James is the United States Sports Academy 2022 Artist of the Year. His painting of NBA Hall of Famer, Alex English, is in their permanent collection.
James is also extremely proud to be part of the collection of the Universal Hip-Hop Museum, both their metaverse exhibit (2022) and permanent physical collection in the Bronx, New York (2024, upon completion of the museum).
